Terms of use

The site is currently in a pre-launch phase (waitlist only): no sales are underway. These Terms of Use describe the use of the site and the upcoming beta; they will be completed as each stage opens.

Purpose

These terms of use ("Terms of Use") govern access to and use of the captionbuild.com website, as well as the use of the Caption Build software by anyone accessing it, in particular during the beta phase. By browsing the site, signing up for the waitlist, or using the application, you accept these Terms of Use.

Currently available service

At this stage, the site presents Caption Build and allows you to sign up for a waitlist for the upcoming beta. No sales are underway and no paid feature is accessible (see the terms of sale for how future purchases are planned to work).

Waitlist sign-up

Signing up requires a valid email address and your explicit consent. It is free and does not commit you to any purchase. People on the waitlist get priority, in sign-up order, to buy one of the 50 licenses at the €59 founder price; this price stays guaranteed within the limit of these first 50 licenses actually sold, and signing up does not guarantee a specific date for the beta to open.

Using the software during the beta

During the beta, Caption Build is provided free of charge, for testing purposes, "as is". We do not guarantee continuous availability, the absence of bugs, or that the features, interface, or export formats will remain in their current form: they may change or be interrupted without notice during this phase.

Your commitments

You agree to use the site and the software in a manner compliant with the law, not to attempt to disrupt their operation (unauthorized automated extraction, reverse engineering, circumventing technical measures), and to remain solely responsible for the videos and content you process with the tool, in particular for respecting third-party rights over that content.

Intellectual property

The content of the site (text, visuals, logo, the "Caption Build" trademark) is protected as indicated in the legal notice. Use of the Caption Build software, once available, will grant a personal right of use under the terms of the purchased license, without any transfer of ownership of the software itself.

Liability

The site and the software are provided "as is". We make every effort to ensure they work properly but do not guarantee absolute availability or compatibility with every hardware configuration. Our liability cannot be engaged for indirect damages related to use of the site or software.

Changes to these Terms of Use

These Terms of Use may be updated, in particular when the beta and then sales open. The applicable version is the one in force at the time you use the site or the software.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms of Use are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute not resolved amicably, the consumer has the right to use a consumer mediator free of charge. The competent mediator will be designated and their contact details added here before sales open, once the professional status (sole proprietorship or company) is registered — this designation depends on it.
